We regret to inform you......   Hateful words.   The good and bad news: Rejection is part of the Game.   Recently, I responded to two Call for Art queries. One was to a gallery in Georgia that looked interesting online. I liked the art they sell and on impulse, decided to enter. In this case, I never received an acknowledgement of the application or a decision! I am not sure what happened there.    The other was a little more complicated. They say "Showing up" is the most important thing. I agree, and so, it is my goal to paint daily.     Normally, I can zone out the distractions of regular life and get into that creative space. Recently, though, my husband and I were involved in an stressful renovation project. Most of the artwork I did during that period had to be fixed. One painting was bad enough I considered throwing it away. Instead I decided to set it aside for a bit. Peaches in Bloom     I am currently possessed by an obsession.     Each year, I visit the orchard near me and make a painting of the trees when the blossoms have opened. The area in which this orchard is located is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of central Virginia. It is truly one of the most beautiful places you will ever see! The trees are so gracefully formed, their branches elegantly posed. There is an elusive beauty that I continue to try to capture.                                                [...]
